In 2015, Dorenda Notermans graduated with the highest distinction in the Luca School of Arts as ‘Master After Master Piano’, ‘Master Chamber Music’ and ‘Master Teacher’ under the guidance of Jan Vermeulen. From her third year in this school she was chosen to attend an exeptional soloists education. In addition she was taught by people like André De Groote, Anne Camps and Vitaly Samoshko.
She took masterclasses with Sergejs Osokins, Daniel Rivera, Ana Mirabella, Leonel Morales and Andreas Froelich. In 2014 she was selected for a masterclass ‘repetiteurs’ in the National Opera Studio in London with Mark Shanahan and Jeremy Silver.
Dorenda became finalist of the ‘Stephan De Jonghe’ piano competition in Aalst (2010) and she reached the semifinals in the ‘New Tenuto Competition’ in Brussels (2012). In 2010 she performed in the ‘Centre of Fine Arts’ in Brussels on the occasion of the annually international ‘Klara festival’. As a soloist she played with several orchestras, including the ‘Symphonic Orchestra of the Luca School of Arts’ and the ‘Royal Fanfare Kempenbloei of Achel’ conducted by Ivan Meylemans. She has played solo recitals in Belgium, The Netherlands and Spain. In 2015 she performed in the ‘Raad van State’ in The Hague and in the concert hall of Tilburg.
Dorenda Notermans is also a passionate chamber musician, accompanist and piano teacher. She plays in a duo with soprano Kelly Poukens ('Duo Bienvenue') and with flutist Sofie Verbeeck. As a piano teacher, she is connected with the Kunstacademie Noord-Limburg and the Stedelijke Academie voor Muziek, Woord en Dans Beringen.
In 2016, Dorenda contributed as soloist to several productions of radio 'Klara'. She modified a.o. in a cd-recording, called Fingerprints, with new Flemish music, that was live presented on 28 January on the Klara-event 'Klara in de Singel', and on the 17th of May she was heard on radio 'Klara' with a few works of Erik Satie in the program 'Iedereen Satie'. Further Dorenda performed several times in different productions of musical organization 'Pantalone'in association with radio ‘Klara’.
